We will process other grades starting in February.

Student Drop-Off Procedure: Update
Hi GIS parents. We are excited to share that because of your support in dropping students off later, and our staff’s willingness to open campus a bit earlier, we are achieving the goal of reducing the large number of students who are standing outside the gate at the beginning of the school day. As a reminder, please drop your children off after 7:45 am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and after 9:20 am on Wednesday morning. Thank you for your support on this matter and for making our school a more safe environment for our students.

Belonging Update⼁ds.office@gisthailand.org
Over this last semester, 2 parent ambassadors held a Belonging focus group on the topic of General Belonging. A focus group was conducted at Kwan’s Kitchen with about 10 parents attending. Parent ambassadors Sunghea Yum and Jonathan Broyles helped lead the discussion and this document is a summary of the insight from this meeting. The document includes topics that were discussed, suggestions that were shared, and a general summary of what some of the parents felt about belonging at Grace International School. We are grateful to the parents that joined this discussion. All of the suggestions have been shared with leadership and for the next round of discussion we would like to focus on equity and status. If you have any questions or anything you’d like to add to the discussion, please reach out to ds.office@gisthailand.org

Save the Date! Worship Night — Wed., Feb. 22, 7-8:30pm, GIS Cafeteria — “Costly Grace”
Every year, we schedule a worship night on Ash Wednesday, the annual beginning of the season of Lent at Grace International School. Any student in Chiangmai from grade 7-12 is welcome, as are parents, but no students below grade 7 are allowed to attend.
Considering Lent as a discipleship tool (begins Feb. 22 through April 6, 2023)
During the 40 day season of Lent, we consider the consequences of our sin separating us from God as well as the wonder of hope we have in Christ’s gracious forgiveness to all who come to him. The Spiritual Life Office, along with our Chapel Core Team students, will invite our GIS secondary students and their families to consider what we can subtract or add on in order to grow in our knowledge and love for Jesus. Stay tuned for more details coming soon! In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more about Lent, please visit this link to the Axis Parent Guide to Lent. If you’re a parent, consider ways you can observe Lent as well as inviting your students into a deeper awareness of their need for Jesus along with you!
