Poet, author, magician, puppeteer, storyteller, journalist or stand up comedian? Nick is all of these and far more. With over 4500 school visits under his belt, Nick is one of the UK’s leading performance poets and most prolific writers of children’s poetry. Famous for his ‘Million-Miles- An- Hour Show’, and his creative writing workshops, Nick has inspired children of all ages (3-18) from Birmingham to Borneo and has just published his latest anthology of poems entitled Dragons are Back.
We have the privilege of hosting Nick at GIS on Monday, November 25. All elementary students will be attending a presentation by Nick. Parents of GIS students are welcome to attend (see Google form below). The event will take place on the 3rd floor of the library. There will be 3 sessions for elementary students:

Grace International School, in partnership with the Tan Chin Tuan Foundation of Singapore, seeks to promote and reward educational excellence in academics, athletics, leadership/community service, and the fine arts. This scholarship honors excellence to rising seniors by providing financial scholarships to help towards tuition at either GIS or the university of their choice.
The scholarship application opened on October 4 and must be completed by 8:00 am December 9, 2019, to be eligible. This is a reminder to not wait until the last minute. Besides the possible financial reward, if you win, the experience of applying is valuable for future scholarship applications and for college itself. Here is the link to the application.

GIS Nurse Office is able to offer monthly vaccination services in partnership with a local Thai doctor. Visit the Health Services website for complete information and forms. Please note completed payment at the Nurses Office confirms a vaccination appointment. It requires at least 2 days to process the information before the appointment.

Since January 1 (common admissions deadline) is during the GIS Christmas Break that begins on December 21, we are making December 5 the last date that a teacher can be asked to write a letter for a college application that is due on January 1 or 15.

Drama Auditions for Grades 9-12 | firstname.lastname@example.org
Got drama? Auditions for this year’s production of “Pygmalion” will be on November 21, from 3:30 – 5:30 in S210. Auditions are open for grades 9 – 12. “Pygmalion” is a romantic comedy that tells the story of an unruly, Cockney flower girl who is transformed into a genteel lady by a cantankerous, blunt professor. Come with a minute to two minute long memorized monologue to perform. Students may see Ms. Holley if they need help finding a monologue. Break a leg!
