International Day is Thursday, February 17, as GIS celebrates the diversity of our international school community. Elementary Students will celebrate with some country-themed game tents. Secondary Students will have a special assembly with some country-themed presentations and a discussion panel answering questions about various cultures.
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, parents are not invited to join the International Day activities on campus. Only parents who are already volunteering to help conduct said activities should be coming to campus. Our Communications department will document all of the events during the day and share them with the community at a later date.
Our next (non-COVID) vaccine clinic will be on Tuesday, February 22, 3:15-4pm in the Nurse’s Office. Please sign up here and pay via bank transfer or in our office by Friday, February 18th at noon.

Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 24 & 25. There will be NO SCHOOL for elementary students on those days. Later this week you’ll be receiving an email with a link to instructions to sign up for a conference with your child’s teacher.

Elementary staff and students will be showing our Tiger Pride on Thursday, February 17, by dressing up in anything that represents their home country….the traditional dress, the flag colors, etc. If your child chooses not to dress-up according to the Tiger Pride theme, they should wear their normal Grace uniform. Please note: February 14-17 is Tiger Pride Week for Secondary students only – elementary is only participating on Thursday, International Day.

Grade 10 parents: Wednesday, February 23 @ 8:00 AM is PSAT10 testing. Testing on Wednesday prior to the start of school will preserve some precious class time. Testing will begin at 8:00 AM on that day and will be finished in time for lunch at 11:40 AM. An email will be sent with all pertinent information.

Parents and students can refer to this Handbook as they review their 4-year Academic Plans and choose courses for the 2022-2023 school year. This Handbook defines each course and indicates grade-levels and prerequisites necessary to enroll in all classes.

Student Council presents Tiger Pride Week, GIS PLAYLIST!
From February 14 to 17, students can dress up every day according to the theme to show off your Tiger Pride and school spirit! There will be entertaining games every day and polaroids sold at lunch on Wednesday!
Monday: Disney Songs – Dress up as a Disney character!
Tuesday: The GIS Fight Song – Dress up in school colors (yellow and blue)!
Wednesday: K-Pop Song – Dress up as a recognizable group with your friends!
Thursday: National Anthem – Dress up in National Clothes!

Thursday, February 17 is International Day. Students will have a special assembly day. After Homeroom & Attendance at 8:10am, there will be an International Day Assembly celebrating the diversity of our international school community at GIS. After the assembly, students will proceed to Class 6. We will follow a C Day for class rotation. There will be no Zero Period as it is a C Day class schedule. We also invite students to dress up in their national dress as a part of Tiger Pride Week. See email sent on February 10 for more information.

The Parent-Staff Council (PSC) is providing an opportunity for secondary students to write thank you notes to teachers and staff. During Tutorial on Tuesday and in the hallway outside the office, note paper will be provided by the PSC to give students an opportunity to encourage teachers and staff.

We are excited to be hosting a worship night on February 16th here at GIS. We will be hanging out and playing games starting at 6:15pm and then worship will be from 7:00-8:30pm.

Come join us for a time of prayer on February 15 from 8:15am-8:45am. We will take time to pray for our GIS community and for the larger community of ACSI schools across the globe.
