Our first Vaccination Clinic (non-COVID) is coming up soon on Tuesday, 30 August, 3:15-4pm. Please sign up here and pay via bank transfer or cash in the Health Office by Friday, 26 August.

Please be reminded of our Attendance Policy Related to Illness and our Medication Policy in efforts to keep our students safe and well. Students who are sick should stay home to prevent the spread of contagious/communicable diseases. Also, all medication should be kept in the nurse’s office. Only secondary students are allowed to carry emergency medications with special permission.

Please mark your calendar from August 29 – September 2, 2022 for our Whole School Photo Week. This time, we will be taking our photos with U Smile Kids! You might remember from the last time U Smile Kids came and you could choose merchandise from them, well, they will have that available for you this time too.

Usmile will be taking ID photos and a couple of fun poses from staff and students, but there will be after school hours (3:30 – 5 pm) when families and friends can sign up to take group photos with them.
More information on the schedule and the families & friends sign up sheet will be given at a later date, if you have any questions, please email to communications@gisthailand.org and we will coordinate accordingly for you.

Substitute Teachers Needed | elementary.office@gisthailand.org
We have a huge need for substitute teachers! Do you find joy in working with children? You might be interested in serving with us as a substitute teacher. You don’t have to be a qualified teacher, you just need a willing heart. If you’d like to serve as a substitute teacher in elementary, please contact Khun Na Tisdale at rtisdale@gisthailand.org.

Twice a year 3rd – 6th graders participate in MAP Assessments. This year’s fall session is scheduled to begin in a couple weeks. Parents will receive a letter explaining what MAP is and a schedule next week.

No one likes to lose things. So that this doesn’t happen to you or your child, please remember to properly label all uniform clothing, snack containers and water bottles with your family name so that we can keep our lost & found items to a minimum. Thank you!

SPIRITUAL LIFE

No Hume Thailand for October ‘22. We are excited to resume our bi-ennial (every 2 years) partnership with Hume Lake Christian Camps in October of 2023.
Chapel Service Team sign-ups are due Thursday, August 18, 2022. Any 7th-12th grade GIS student is required to complete this online application.
Chapel Band Auditions next Saturday, August 20 (8am-5pm). Any 8th-12th grade students interested in auditioning for chapel band must sign up for a 15-minute audition slot on Saturday, August 20, 2022 here. All auditions will be held in the cafeteria at the GIS campus.

ALL U12 & U14 Basketball tryouts will be postponed until the week of Aug. 22nd — we apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding
