We are seeing more jackets around campus. Please remember that outerwear clothing needs to be in the navy color range. You can read the Dress Code Policy here . Also, PLEASE, label all uniforms and jackets with your child’s name (not initials) so we can return lost items.

The Academic Eligibility Policy (see PSMO Handbook) aims to help students be successful by prioritizing their academic responsibilities. A grade check will occur every other week starting with week 3 of each grading period/quarter. The report will be conducted by the Academic Counseling Team. At week 3 (this Friday, Sept. 20) of the grading period/quarter, the grade check will serve as a warning for student with a grade below a 70. Eligibility will be affected during subsequent grade checks.

GIS Nurse Office is able to offer monthly vaccination services in partnership with a local Thai doctor. Visit the Health Services website for complete information and forms. Please note completed payment at the Nurses Office confirms a vaccination appointment. It requires at least 2 days to process the information before the appointment.

Payments for Hume Lake are now being received at the Admin Building reception with K. Tawn, **Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 – 9:30 AM and 3:00 – 4:00 PM each day through September 22. Wednesday opens from 9:45 – 11:00 AM and 3:00 – 4:00 PM.**

It’s time to register for Hume Thailand 2019! Hume Lake Christian Camps have been bringing an amazing team of adult counselors to serve students in Thailand for over a decade of unforgettable camp experiences. These Hume staffers personally fundraise to keep camp costs low to offer students an excellent, Jesus-saturated, super-fun Christian camping experience for any grade 6-12 students. As parents of GIS students, you are allowed to check out up to 20 books at a time for 2 weeks at a time. The GIS Library is available for parents during the following hours:

Morning: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:55 – 8:15 AM

Afternoon: Monday: 3:15 – 4:00 PM, Thursday: 1:30 – 4:00 PM

We are planning some exciting new clubs for our 3rd – 6th grade students this fall! Clubs will be every Wednesday beginning October 30 until December 18. More information about clubs and registrations forms will be e-mailed to parents after October break.

We have several extracurricular clubs/activities that are getting started in the next few weeks. Students will see posters advertising these in our building and will also hear more information in the weekly announcements on Mondays.

All Secondary Parents are invited to the 2nd floor of the Library on Monday, September 16 from 7-8pm. We will be discussing how technology is integrated in the Secondary School, tools we use (i.e. Google Classroom), technology & digital citizenship curriculum, filtering and parent tools such as Blocksi. Please plan to join us!

GIS is not offering the PSAT/NMSQT this year. Instead, Grade 11 American Citizens interested in the PSAT/NMSQT are invited to contact Chiang Rai International School to inquire about reserving a testing spot on October 30. There are limited spaces thus make contact no later than October 1 by emailing the CRIS Guidance Counselor – hope@cris.ac.th
