ELEMENTARY

End of Year Schedule | mkennedy@gisthailand.org

Last week you should have received an e-mail regarding Elementary’s Continuous Learning and drop-off schedule for the week of May 24-28.  If you missed that e-mail you can read it here.

Elementary Yearbook Sales | mkennedy@gisthailand.org

The 6th Grade Yearbook Team did a great job capturing our memories and put them all in our “Unmasked” yearbook.  Purchase your copy during elementary’s drop-off/drive-through good-byes on May 27 & 28.  The cost of each yearbook is 400 baht.  Previous year’s yearbooks will also be available at a cost of 350 baht each.  Please help us by bringing correct change, we will not be able to accommodate electronic payments.  (Contact the elementary office if you’d like a copy but will not be here on those days.)

Class of 2021 Future Plans Form |  counselor@gisthailand.org

Parents of graduating seniors, please make certain your seniors have completed the Class of 2021 Future Plans Form by May 21. If a final transcript must be sent anywhere or a hard-copy picked up, your request must be made on this form. We need to know what your future plans are even if you are not yet 100% certain of them, collecting this data helps us celebrate you and helps us assess our preparation of GIS students for their futures.

Report Cards |  counselor@gisthailand.org

Secondary student Report Cards will be emailed to parents on Wednesday, May 26. If a graduating senior has requested (2021 Future Plan Form) to pick up a final official paper-copy transcript or have a transcript mailed or uploaded to a university, they will be available at the Secondary Office for pickup or distributed as per the student’s request on Thursday, May 27.

Final Update: AP Exams |  secondaryoffice@gisthailand.org

  • We have two AP Exams left for today.
  • Big thanks and praise to our Counselors, Ms. Spohnhauer and Mrs. Jeong for helping to coordinate the exams while maintaining strenuous COVID restrictions.
  • Please direct any questions regarding the testing times and general rules regarding the exams to the Academic Counselors at counselor@gisthailand.org

Reminder: Attendance in Continuous Learning |  attendance@gisthailand.org

Attendance will be taken during live sessions in the afternoon and during Advisory. Teachers will provide instructions on how to join these live sessions in their weekly checklists. Your student will need to attend a mandatory live session that a teacher will conduct in order to be marked present. Note: Teacher’s may choose to not have a live session, in which case there would be no attendance for that class on that day.

Student Council Elections |  joshmckeown@gisthailand.org

Congratulations to Sara Bohrer (President), Jeondo Lee (Vice President), Shinyoung Kim (Secretary), and Tory Wang (Treasurer) for being the newly elected officers for the next school year!

Due to COVID-19 complications, speeches for Student Council elections for class representatives will be in the form of videos. If you are applying for a class representative

  • Please fill out the application form by 11:59, PM, May 19th
  • Your video should be a maximum of two minutes long and submitted to Mr. McKeown via email by 11:59, PM, May 19th
  • The videos for class representatives will be presented to your individual classes on May 21st

There is only one week left for StuCo class representative applications! Candidates should include different positive qualities/gifts they can bring to the school in their speeches! However, candidates should refrain from making promises about events or changes that they wish to make at school as that may not always be possible especially with COVID-19 complications.

The Student Council is looking for various candidates with leadership, creativity, and confidence, and hope to see many applications for the upcoming school year of 2021-2022!

This Week in Athletics | athletics@gisthailand.org

In light of school staying online for the rest of the quarter, this unfortunately means that all third season sports have officially been cancelled. So a couple of housekeeping things:

During the designated drop off period, Athletics will have a table somewhere in or near Secondary (we’ll let you know the specific location when we know). During this time please

  • Drop off your jerseys

  • Tri-Sport families: pick up vouchers and refunds

  • Pick up sports award trophies

If you have any questions, please email athletics@gisthailand.org

🏆 Sports Award: In case you missed it, Saturday we hosted a virtual Sports Award where we were able to honour our athletes and wrap up this year’s sports seasons. If you want to watch or rewatch, here’s a video from that night!
