Making Travel Plans| dsa.office@gisthailand.org
In light of the recent news from the Superintendent that GIS will be finishing this academic year off-campus, we realize some families may begin to re-evaluate their plans for the near future. To provide clarity, below we are including and addressing a few possible scenarios, should you consider leaving Thailand before the end of the semester.

Leaving Thailand

If your family is planning to remain enrolled at GIS, but leave/travel before May 29:

  • Your student(s) may finish the rest of their semester online, with full credit.
  • You will not be able to take GIS-owned property (Chromebook, Textbooks, Athletic Uniforms/Equip, Library Books, etc.) with you and must make arrangements to return all GIS-owned property to campus.
  • The appropriate office (Elementary or Secondary) needs to be made aware of your family’s plans and intentions for next year. When notifying the offices, you will be given instructions for the return of GIS property.

If your family wishes to withdraw your student(s) before May 29:

  • Please contact registrar@gisthailand.org to begin this process.
  • You will need to return all GIS-owned property to campus (Chromebook, Textbooks, Athletic Uniforms/Equip, Library Books, etc.)
  • The appropriate office (Elementary or Secondary) needs to be made aware of the desire to withdraw. When notifying the offices, you will be given instructions for the return of GIS property.

Remaining In Thailand

If your family is planning to remain in Thailand until the end of the semester:

  • Your student(s) will be able to continue to use GIS-owned property to complete their semester.
  • More information will be forthcoming about year-end procedures and the return of GIS-owned property

If you have further questions, please feel free to email dsa.office@thailand.org.

SECONDARY

Secondary Final Exams | secprincipal@gisthailand.org
All students are exempt from semester 2 final exams. High stakes tests, such as final exams, can add stress, and this season is not the time for stress. Quarter 3 & Quarter 4 grades will be averaged to determine semester 2 grades on report cards and transcripts. Semester 2 will finish on May 29.

2020-2021 Course Selection for Secondary Students | counselor@gisthailand.org
The revised timeline for the 2020-21 course selection process will be communicated soon.  This will include course selection for rising 7th graders.
