*New* Poor Air Quality | firstname.lastname@example.org
The pollution season in Chiang Mai is starting now, which can cause an increase in allergy and asthma symptoms. Please make sure your child has any necessary allergy/asthma medications and/or inhalers in the nurse’s office. Complete the Authorization to Give Emergency Medication at School form and return to the school nurse along with the medication/inhaler. Inhalers for elementary students will be kept in the nurse’s office. Secondary students are allowed to carry their own inhalers if the Permission to Carry Medication form is on file in the nurse’s office. Thank you for helping us keep your child/children safe and healthy!

Medical Resources | firstname.lastname@example.org
The school nurses have put together this document for parents to know what’s available in the community as you provide care for your family. The document have always been on the school’s health web page (Medical and Dental Care in Chiang Mai), but here is the direct link to the Google document. If you have questions or recommendations, feel free to share them with the nurses.

Please submit completed re-enrollment physicals to the nurse’s office by the end of January. Results of a TB skin test, chest x-ray, or QuantiFIRON blood test (QFT) should also be completed every 3 years. Please contact the nurse’s office if you have any questions.
Heads Up – Standardized Testing | firstname.lastname@example.org
Starting this year, we are using standardized testing in grades 8 & 10 to gather data to improve teaching and learning. This will also inform students’ post-secondary readiness and provide parents with data to track their child’s learning growth. We are using the College Board’s assessments – PSAT 8 & PSAT 10. All full-time students in grades 8 & 10 will be required to take these exams on the following dates (no cost):

End of Semester 1/Q2 & Exam Schedule | email@example.com
Due to the delayed start of the school year, this year Semester 1 will end on Friday, January 24. Final exams will be Jan. 21-24. The schedule can be accessed on the Secondary calendar here.(FYI from the PSMO Handbook: Semester exams for grade 9-12 students or students taking a grade 9-12 level course are given at the end of each semester according to the schedule determined by the Principal (typically the last 4 days). Courses in the following areas will have semester final examinations: English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language, and Religious Studies. Other courses may or may not include final semester exams.)
If, due to transportation issues, a student needs to be at school but doesn’t have a final (G 9-12), they are permitted to study in provided classrooms.
Elementary Subs Needed | firstname.lastname@example.org
Elementary is in need of more substitutes for our teachers and teacher aides. Don’t worry – you don’t need to be a qualified teacher to sub. When our teachers are absent they leave very comprehensive instructions for subs to follow. If you don’t feel comfortable teaching, how about subbing for one of our teacher aides, they assist in the classroom and on the playground. Subbing is a great way to get more volunteer hours. Contact Michelle Kennedy if you are interested in helping in this way. Feel free to specify what days you are available and if you’d prefer to only sub for teacher aides.
Where to Get Sports Updates
We know practice and game changes have a great impact on everyone involved in sports. The best ways to know about these changes are on the Athletic website and Grace Athletics Facebook Page.
