GIS Library Book Sale| library@gisthailand.org

March 1-31: Fiction! Nonfiction! Picture books & more! Need some different reading material? The GIS Library will be selling used & discarded books outside of the library — come and find your next favorite book! All books are ฿10 each unless otherwise marked. Please bring your own bag.

Book Character Parade | mkennedy@gisthailand.org 
As the big finale to March is Reading Month, April 1 will be our Book Character Dress-Up Day!  Students are encouraged to dress up like a book character for our annual Book Character Parade.  It has yet to be determined if parents will be allowed on campus to be spectators for the parade or not but we’ll let you know that information as soon as possible.

Report cards were e-mailed to parents on Wednesday, March 17.  Please note, there is a time limit on the report link.  If you’d like a hard copy of the report, please print it before March 31.

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Wednesday Prayer Time | spirituallife@gisthailand.org
There will be another prayer time in the Spiritual Life Office for Secondary students and staff from 12:00-12:15pm on Wednesday at lunch.

Elevation Week | spirituallife@gisthailand.org
We are so excited that Elevation Week is next week! Elevation Week is a weeklong experience in Secondary where we take additional time throughout the week to pause and encourage our students to pursue a deeper life with Jesus. This year, Bryan Greenwood will be sharing during our morning and evening sessions on what it looks like to live a life with God. You can check out a schedule of the evening events
HERE. Parents are welcome to join our evening sessions. Please join us in prayer that the Lord would use this week in a significant way in the lives of our Secondary students!

SECONDARY

Report cards were sent on March 17. If you need a report card for your personal academic record, then please download it from the link that was sent as soon as possible as the link will expire in two weeks from the date it was sent. 

Night of Stars |joshmckeown@gisthailand.org
The Student Council invites grades 9-12 students to the music and talent competition, “Night of Stars” on March 27th! Students will enjoy performances and quality time with friends in a beautifully lit, jazzy, outdoor venue under the stars! It will be a semi-formal evening of entertainment, food, and competition. Tickets will be 320 baht, 250 baht for performers, sold from March 22nd to 26th. They are first come first serve, as space is limited due to Covid restrictions. No outside guests are permitted for this event and make sure to bring a mask. GIS dress code still applies!

Time: 7:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.
Location: Veranda High Chiangmai Resort

Assembly Schedule: Elevation Week |secondary.office@gisthailand.org We will be running an assembly schedule during Elevation week from March 29 to April 2. The rotation and order of the classes for each day will remain the same. 5 minutes will be subtracted from each class to create the Assembly time at the beginning of the day. Students will be expected to show up for Homeroom first for attendance at 8:10 for 5 minutes and then head directly to the Cafeteria for the morning assembly. Wednesday, March 31 will have a regular C-day schedule, with not Assembly. We will post signs all over the school during this week. The bells will reflect this modified schedule during this week.

Due to a scheduling conflict, the Senior Transition Seminar has been postponed until April

Academic Course Selection for SY 2021-22 |counselor@gisthailand.org
All current students have already met with his/her assigned Academic Counselor and information about making course selections in FamilyWeb (RenWeb) is forthcoming. Stay tuned for an email about this timeline! In the meantime, it would be helpful for parents to review their child’s Academic Plan with them.
