ELEMENTARY

In lieu of our traditional End of Year Celebration, this year we are hosting a Music Showcase for parents. Each class will be performing under the direction of Miss Park, our elementary Music teacher. Please come enjoy this year’s Music Showcase with us on Tuesday, May 24 at 8:30 a.m. in the cafeteria.

MAP Assessments Results | elementary.office@gisthailand.org
3rd – 6th grade MAP Assessment results will be available to parents during the Music Showcase (Tuesday, May 24) in the cafeteria. Results that are not picked up during the showcase, will be available in the elementary office that last week of school. Students are not allowed to pick up the Assessment results, they will only be released to parents.

Elementary Yearbooks are available for purchase in the elementary office from now until the last day of school. There will also be a table for yearbook sales at the Music Showcase on May 24. The cost is 400 baht, please be prepared to pay with exact change, if possible. If you’d like to purchase a copy, but will be out of the country during this time, please contact the office. The 2020-2021 yearbook will also be available for purchase at the cost of 350 baht.

DATE CHANGE! Thursday, May 26 at 11am following Class 6 the student will have an Awards Ceremony. Due to space constraints, parents are unable to attend. This event will be livestreamed here. Please remind your children to keep their Awards as evidence of receipt of the award for colleges later. These are original documents that cannot be reproduced later by the school.

NOTE THE CHANGES: Look at the modified schedule as found on the Secondary Calendar. Please note the start and end times for each morning. Some class times have changed (see Secondary Calendar). Students will not be on campus in the afternoon and lunch will not be served during this week. During a free period in the morning, students may be in the Library or go to Genesis Cafe for the 90 minute period. If a student is at Genesis Cafe, they should be prepared to purchase a snack or drink as it is a business.

Chromebook Return | secondary.office@gisthailand.org
Chromebooks can be returned to the Secondary IT Office during breaks or after school the week of May 23 as long as they are no longer needed for exams, studying or classes. We encourage students to turn in their Chromebook ahead of Friday, if it is not needed for any exam or classes. Collections times (if not turned in beforehand) are as follows for Friday, May 27:

10am: Last names A-I
10:30am: Last names J-R
11am: Last names S-Z

Graduation Practice | secondary.office@gisthailand.org
Graduation practice is Thursday, May 26 from 1-2:30pm. Graduates are expected to attend.

Graduation is Friday, May 27 at 6pm and is held at Royal Flora Ratchaphruek. Dress for both graduates and attendees is semi-formal and for graduates needs to adhere to the “Special Events” guidelines referenced in the PSMO Handbook. This year the event will require a ticket to attend in person. Tickets will be given to graduates to disperse to invite their guests. We encourage the GIS community to celebrate the Class of 2022 by joining us virtually on our livestream here.

Report cards will be emailed on Tuesday, May 31.
Students have already given the academic counselors instructions for 12th grade final official transcripts. For any changes or additional requests, GIS Transcript Request For 12th-Grade Students form must be used.

Transcripts for students withdrawing from grades 7-11, please use this form Grace International School Transcript Request for Current 9-11 Students.

The Spiritual Life Office has purchased copies of Living in a Gray World by Preston Sprinkle. This is one of the best resources for Christian teenagers on navigating the topic of sexuality––especially in regards to same-sex attraction. If you would like to purchase a copy for 350 baht, you can email the Spiritual Life Office to reserve a copy.

ATHLETICS

We can’t believe that we’re getting to end the year together in person. It’s been too long. A couple things:

FINALS WEEK:

All athletics facilities (courts, fields, fitness center, etc.) will all be closed during finals week

LOST AND FOUND:

Please come claim your items by Thursday, May 26th 4:00pm.

JERSEYS:

Please return jerseys by Thursday, May 26th 4:00pm to the Athletics Box

We wanted to give you as much of a heads up for financial things coming your way in the Fall as possible:

VARSITY ATHLETES:

ISB: If all goes according to plan, we’ll be back for ISB Soccer and Volleyball in September and Basketball in November
ACSC: there is a POSSIBILITY we will be able to start attending ACSC tournaments again (starting as early as October). In the past, ACSC has ranged from 16,000 to 30,000 baht depending on the location. However, with COVID and not a lot of travel these past couple years, we’ve noticed that there has been an increase in prices so please keep that in mind.

EVERYONE:

The JV and Varsity jersey process will be different next year. Each player will PURCHASE two sets of jerseys (blue and yellow) for volleyball/soccer (they have the same jerseys) and basketball — the cost is 600 baht PER SET (1,200 baht per sport). The plan is to keep the jerseys and use them until you/your athlete graduates or leaves Grace.
All cross country athletes will also be purchasing their own running bibs they can keep (price and details to come)
U8-U14 will be purchasing the same jerseys we already have in the uniform shop.

SUMMER:

The Fitness Center will be closed to students over the summer
