This is an opportunity for the superintendent to give you an update on the school, address school-wide topics, and answer questions from parents. You’ll also have an opportunity to enjoy some snacks and make connections with other GIS parents.

Air Pollution Season| nurse@gisthailand.org
Style Seal will be selling air quality masks on campus on Monday, February 1, 2-4pm in the Uniform Shop. As we enter air pollution season, we recommend your student bring 2 masks to school: one surgical/cloth mask for COVID prevention and one N95 style for poor air quality. Our GIS Air Quality Index Chart can be accessed here for policies regarding activities and school closures.

ELEMENTARY

Tomorrow, January 26, is our first chapel of 2021 and we are looking forward to learning about the Lord all together once again. Unfortunately, parents are still not allowed to attend our elementary chapel service due to COVID restrictions but a video will be taken and sent to you this week. Thank you for your understanding.

Can you believe it is our 100th day of school already? Tuesday, February 2, our Kindergarten through 2nd graders will be celebrating our 100th day of school with special activities that morning. We might even have a surprise or two for our 3rd – 6th graders.
SECONDARY
Student Delivery/Orders NOT Permitted | Secondary Office
Students are not permitted to order (violation of cell phone use – see PSMO Handbook) and/or receive Grab orders during school hours. Secondary Administration is working with our Security Team to ensure the safety of our students while on our closed campus and we appreciate your cooperation to this end.
Reminder: Cold Weather & Outerwear | Secondary Office
As the weather gets cooler in the mornings, please remember that the GIS dress code applies to outwear. Please refer to the PSMO Handbook for more information.
Arriving Late/Tardy | Secondary Office
See Secondary PSMO Handbook 2020-2021 for more details.
- Students need to check-in at the Secondary Office to be signed in and given a note to class.
- An excused tardy will require communication by a phone call or email (see “Reporting an Absence” for contact information).
- Students more than 20 minutes late to a class, will be marked as absent.
How to Report Absences | Secondary Office
If a student is absent, a parent/guardian is expected to contact the office between 7:45 and 8:15 a.m. on the day of the absence.

Unreported Absences. All absences not reported by 8:15 am on the day your child is absent, will be unexcused. Unexcused absences may impact credits received.
Planned Absences. Students planning to be absent 2+ days are to complete the Planned Absence Request Form, at least a week in advance.
SPIRITUAL LIFE

We are excited to have our annual Art Chapel on February 5th. This chapel is an opportunity to worship God through our artwork and celebrate student creativity.
