Elementary Tiger Pride Day | mkennedy@gisthailand.org
Career Day!  Elementary celebrates our Tiger Pride by having a dress-up day each month.  Students are encouraged to come to school dressed up in a career of their choice on Thursday, November 19.  (Modest attire, please, accordance with our dress code policy.)

Parents Appreciation Day: Student Photo Contest | ajitaree@gisthailand.org
In place of Parents Appreciation Day this year, the Thai teachers are organizing a photo contest. Interested students can find more information posted on campus. There are prizes for the winners!

GIS Drama Production | tcocking@gisthailand.org
Are you interested in acting or being part of a play production? The GIS drama department will be holding auditions on Wednesday, Nov 11 after school for our spring production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town by Thornton Wilder.

The play is open for all grades 9-12, and this year grade 8 as well!  ESD students in those grades are welcome too. Rehearsals will start in January 2021.

End of Semester/Final Exam Schedule | secondary.office@gisthailand.org
Traditionally, the final days of the semester are early release (11:30am) as this allows for final exams for grades 9-12 and teachers to grade. This year December 15 to December 18 will be early release days.. Please check the Secondary Events Calendar here for the full week’s schedule.

When students are marked as an “unexcused” absence for a specific class, automatic emails will be sent to parents communicating this. You only need to respond if you have not previously communicated to us about this absence

We have posted full time teaching positions. These were filled by long-term subs and we are now looking for a solution for the remainder of the 2020-21 academic year. One full-time English teaching position and 1 full-time Social Studies and Religious Studies position. 4-year degree required and relevant teaching experience highly preferred. Day A(Monday) – Grades 7-12 will discuss stress.
Day E(Friday) – Grades 7-12 will be having an Individual Advisory Meeting (IAM) to discuss their academic progress this quarter.

Due to COVID restrictions the GIS grades, 9-12 event in Semester 1 will look a little different in order to comply with the Ministry of Education guidelines. (Note: Questions about the change in event or COVID restrictions should be directed to Ms. Randolph at secprincipal@gisthailan.org)


The GIS Student Council is inviting GIS students in grades 9-12 (no outside guests allowed) to come and watch talented musicians play and sing music ranging from jazz to ’80s and 90’s songs. There will also be dessert and drinks served while the performance takes place!

Date: November 14th, 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Location: GIS Cafeteria

Students should plan to:

  • Wear formal attire that follows the GIS Dress Code, or they may be turned away at the entrance. 
  • Wear your masks for the duration of the event.
  • Arrive at the event BEFORE the doors close at 7:30 PM.
  • Purchase a ticket between November 9-13 during lunch in the cafeteria.
  • Tickets will cost 320 baht per person! 
  • After the formal program, there will be an opportunity for students to dance within COVID restrictions.
